Empowerment and strengthening of population groups belonging to minorities of indigenous, Afro-descendant, LGBTIQ+, migrant and cisgender women audiovisual workers in 7 Latin American countries.

About the project 

Considering the importance of promoting quality jobs for women in the region and knowing the reality they face, we seek to support andempower women in the film industryIbero-American based on the strengthening of the skills and competencies in entrepreneurship of women over 19 years of age belonging to collectives of the audiovisual sector, indigenous minority populations, Afro-descendants, LGBTIQ, migrants and Cisgender inArgentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Identify the groups of women from indigenous, Afro-descendant, LGBTIQ, migrant and cisgender minority populations, belonging to 7 countries of the Latin American audiovisual industry.

Identify the employment and training situation of working women belonging to the minority audiovisual collectives identified in the 7 countries in the sample, in order to contribute to the development of skills and competencies that allow them to have better access to markets and cultural industries in the sector. national and international audiovisual

Generate a report with the mapping of the audiovisual sector of the 7 countries participating in the project, with a focus on working women belonging to indigenous, Afro-descendant, LGBTIQ, migrant and cisgender minorities, including recommendations for the development of public policy.

The project "seeks to identify the groups of women filmmakers belonging to the different minority groups, in order to generate inputs and achieve a publication with recommendations that identify the state of women audiovisual workers within their countries and can work in together with the different cinematographic authorities of Ibero-America  on issues of public policy".

As a multi-donor fund, the IFCD promotes South-South and North-South cooperation, while contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and gender equality.
